Marish Primary School - Opening And Challenging Young Minds (masthead image)

Welcome to Marish Primary School

Marish is a large primary school which, with 650 pupils on roll, is able to offer a wide range of opportunities and learning experiences for children. With the brand new children’s centre, our nursery unit and school facilities we can offer: childcare for babies from three months; fifteen hours a week nursery provision; full time education for children from four to eleven with after school care; a range of adult education courses and a drop-in centre for children and family support services.

“ A strength is the wide range of visits, visitors and activities that enrich the curriculum. These include well-attended extra-curricular clubs; specialist sports coaching, the brass and guitar lessons. These make learning more relevant and exciting for pupils and add to their enjoyment of school.”

We have a large site with an ICT suite with 30 networked workstations, interactive whiteboards within the classrooms, two large halls equipped for physical education and sporting activities, a music room, large playgrounds and a sports’ field surrounding the school.

“Pupils enjoy lessons and work conscientiously because they like their teachers and are keen to please them.”

The staff and Governors are committed to providing a broad and balanced curriculum which will inspire and challenge children and open opportunities for them to develop skills which can be used throughout their lives.

We offer a wide range of sporting activities and inter-school competitions, lunch time and before and after school clubs, instrumental tuition, art, drama and performance opportunities for all children to experience and enjoy.

“There is outstanding teaching from senior staff at Marish”

We believe that children learn best in a safe and supportive environment where mutual respect and co-operation are valued. All children can achieve and will be encouraged to take part in all aspects of school life. In partnership with you, we aim to achieve high standards and provide the very best for the children of Marish Primary.
